curfew-Definition and Meaning

A “curfew” is a regulation requiring certain or all people to remain indoors during specified hours, often set by authorities for reasons of safety, law enforcement, or public health. Curfews are commonly imposed during nighttime hours but can also apply during the day in specific circumstances. The term can also refer more broadly to any time period during which such restrictions are in effect.
