Cresol, also known as cresylic acid, is a colorless to yellowish liquid that is a mixture of the three isomers of methylphenol: ortho-cresol, meta-cresol, and para-cresol. It is derived from coal tar and is used in various applications, including as a disinfectant, antiseptic, and in the production of resins and plastics.
