colonoscope-Definition and Meaning

A colonoscope is a medical instrument used to examine the interior of the colon (large intestine) and rectum. It is a long, flexible tube equipped with a camera and light at the end, allowing physicians to visualize the lining of the colon for diagnostic purposes, such as detecting abnormalities, polyps, or signs of colorectal cancer. The procedure in which a colonoscope is used is called a colonoscopy.
