Members of this order are characterized by their fully aquatic lifestyle, streamlined bodies, and adaptations for living in water, such as the presence of blubber and the ability to breathe air through lungs. Cetaceans are known for their complex social structures and behaviors, as well as their sophisticated communication techniques. The order is divided into two suborders: Mysticeti (baleen whales) and Odontoceti (toothed whales, including dolphins and porpoises).
