Cestrum-Definition and Meaning

Cestrum’ refers to a genus of flowering plants in the nightshade family (Solanaceae). These plants are typically characterized by their tubular flowers and aromatic foliage. Many species of Cestrum are known for their pleasant fragrance, especially at night, and some are cultivated as ornamental plants. Additionally, some Cestrum species can be toxic if ingested. The most well-known species is Cestrum nocturnum, commonly known as night-blooming jasmine.
